Natrol Cognium Review (Full)

What Is Natrol Cognium?

Natrol Cognium is another popular brain booster claimed to be made from the clinically studied ingredients. They also promised to keep your mind sharp and your brain strong.

They have included some studies supporting the ingredient added in the Cognium, but the question is, does it work or another marketing stunt.

Cognium may amplify your mental smartness by improving cognitive function. It acts as an antioxidant for your brain, protecting it from free radicals and oxidative stress that help age the brain.

Surprisingly, the company promises to deliver all of these benefits in just 28-30 days, while regular users of brain boosters usually take 2-3 months to get going.

So does Cognium really work, and is it worth it?

Natrol Cognium comes in a 60 pills pack and is readily available on the official site, Amazon, eBay, and Walmart.

The product is manufactured by Natrol—a leader in the vitamins, mineral, and supplement market.

Elliott Balbert founded the company in 1980, and the parent organization is Aurobindo Pharma USA, Inc.

Cognium Ingredients

Like Prevagen, this product is also made from a protein obtain from the silkworm, and according to experts, this ingredient might help your brain performance.

There is only one protein (silk protein hydrolysate) in the Cognium, also known as CERA-Q.

The silk protein hydrolysate (CERA-Q powder) is present in a quantity of 100 mg per serving. So is it the #1 clinically proven nootropic protein?

Let’s find out what the research says about this constituent.

The company cited a research paper published by Korean and that too written by researchers who can’t be trusted.

However, a study suggests that taking 200mg of CERAQ may increase blood flow and glucose uptake to the brain’s learning and memory centers.

Another study also reported that taking 400-600mg of this protein effectively improves memory for verbal and visual tests in a dose-dependent manner.

Does Cognium work?

There is minimal data available about CERA-Q protein. At the same time, the Natrol Cognium regular strength contains 100 mg of this protein per serving, so if it works, in my opinion, this is still an underdose ingredient.

As discussed earlier, this is a single ingredient supplement, and the protein is still under observation and has no proven effects on the brain.

Also, we don’t know more about the protein safety profile, so this is another concern.

As a pharmacist, I think Natrol needs to add more and proven ingredients to their stack to compete with the market-proven products.

In my opinion, Natrol should add the following ingredients to Cognium.

Citicoline—which is a proven ingredient for brain-boosting and has many benefits if used as prescribed.

Another ingredient is Phosphatidylserine, which is also a proven ingredient for promoting mood, memory, and focus and helps prevent cognitive decline.

Other ingredients like L tyrosine, Maritime pine bark, Ginkgo biloba, Bacopa monnerie, Huperzine A, etc., are essential in any premium nootropic supplements. All of these ingredients are present in a reasonable dose manner in BrainPill.

How To Take It—Cognium Dose?

The supplement comes in two different variants; one is regular (100mg), and the other one is extra strength (200mg). The usual recommended dose of Cognium is two tablets per day, one in the morning and one in the evening.

  • Avoid it if you have other medical conditions or if you are taking other prescription medications.

Verdict—Natrol Cognium Review

Natrol Cognium might work for some people, but as a pharmacist, I think the product has nothing that can impress me or anyone who knows the science behind nootropic supplements.

If you already have decided to buy a supplement for improving your brain, why not choose a product with proven ingredients and is safe to consume.

That’s why we recommend BrainPill that contains all the required ingredients that are important for any premium nootropic.

This Cognium Review is my personal opinion, and if you want to buy Cognium, it’s totally fine and up to you.
