Salbutamol is an active substance in Asthalin Inhaler and is used to treat respiratory diseases, asthma, lung diseases and other diseases.
Salbutamol belongs to a class of medicines called bronchodilators and especially β2-adrenergic agonists.
Asthalin inhaler contains a propellant 1 which delivers 100 ml of salbutamol as an aerosol in the lungs each time the inhaler is pressed. Each inhaler contains at least 200 actuations.

- Salbutamol works by acting on receptors within the lungs known as beta 2 receptors. once salbutamol stimulates these receptors it causes the muscles in the airways to relax. this enables the airways to open.By opening the airways, salbutamol makes it easier to breath.
The most common side effects associated with the use of asthalin inhaler is
- Headache,
- Tremor,
- Restlessness,
- Palpitations
- Difficulty in sleeping.
While serious side effects include the following:
- Feeling shaky
- Dry mouth
- Shortness of breath
- Pounding
- Wheezing
- Irregular heartbeat
- Skin rash
- Hoarseness
- Tightness in the chest
- Cough.
Consult your doctor if you observe any of the following side-effects, especially if they do not go away.
Asthalin inhaler (Salbutamol) shouldn’t be used if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, assume you will be pregnant or are about to have a baby unless you’re advised to do so by your doctor. ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this drugs.
Salbutamol should be used with caution in the following conditions:
- Coronary insufficiency,
- Cardiac arrhythmias,
- Hypertension,
- Convulsive disorders,
- Hyperthyroidism
- Diabetes mellitus.
- Hypokalemia.
Asthalin Inhaler is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to salbutamol or any of the inactive ingredients present in the asthalin inhaler.

Dosage
The dosage of Asthalin Inhaler for various indications is given below:
Usual Adults dose For relief of acute episodes of bronchospasm:
1 or 2 puffs as necessary.
The maximum dose is up to 8 puffs in 24 hours.
Usual Children Dose For relief of acute episodes of bronchospasm:
Half the adult dose.
Usual Adults To prevent allergen or exercise-induced bronchospasm:
Two inhalations, 15 minutes prior to exercise or exposure to allergen.
The maximum dose is 2 puffs, up to 4 times a day.
Usual Children To prevent allergen or exercise-induced bronchospasm:
Half the adult dose.
Storage
Keep medications at room temperature away from heat and direct light. Do not freeze medications unless required by the package insert. Keep medications away from children and pets.
