Detailed & Honest ScalpMED Review
About The Company
Founded in 2009 by Shane Malek, Scalpmed has proudly served Las Vegas with its innovative hair regrowth solutions. For over a decade now, the company based out of Nevada has been helping men and women worldwide embrace their crowning beauty again.
What is ScalpMED?
ScalpMED, as its name indicate, is a company that works on hair growth products for both men and women.
ScalpMED hair regrowth system combines different topical and oral supplements specially designed for hair regrowth and decreasing hair loss. The product contains Minoxidil— an over-the-counter and FDA-approved medicine for hair loss.
This hair growth system comes in a kit of 5 products that contain a sulfate-free shampoo, a cortex enlarging spray, a plant-based supplement, and a follicle detoxifier.
This ScalpMED hair growth system is designed to cleanse and detoxify your scalp and tweak the scalp’s health so that it can grow healthier, faster, and quicker hair.
This system will regrow and thicken naturally with the help of Nutrisol-RM and Vitadil (Minoxidil). They both come in separate bottles, and you will need to mix them in a single-step application bottle.
These are all that the company claims, but in reality, does ScalpMED work?
Some people have only weak follicles while others are completely bald, So in my opinion, everyone will experience different results.
As I discussed above, this is a whole system, and the product is divided into ScalpMED for men and ScalpMed for Women.
Let’s review them separately.
ScalpMED For Men Review
ScalpMED For Men is a hair loss formula that contains 5% of Minoxidil (Vitadil 5A), Nutrisol®-RM, and PhytoComplex®. Each ingredient accelerates hair growth, prevents thinning, and provides the essential nutrients that your hair seeks.
The company claims that this is the world’s #1 patented and clinically proven hair regrowth and thinning formula. They also claim that “nothing grows your hair back better than Scalp Med.”
The manufacturer has also posted a self-proclaimed study about the product that claims to have a 96% success rate for preventing hair loss, making it more robust and regrowing the lost hairs.
The price of one month’s supply is around $112, but if you want to buy for two months, the cost of a one-month ScalpMED will be $90 with auto shipping.
So, this product consists of several products put together as a system. The following products come in a kit or system.
- Nutrisol-RM
- Vitadil (core ingredient is 5% Minoxidil)
- Single Step Application Bottle (A combination of the first 2)
- Plant-Based Supplement
- Follicle Detoxifier.
You will need to buy this whole hair growth system containing the above five products—you can’t buy a single product.
Nutrisol RM— is a topical solution made from 4 ingredients like Biotin, Retinol [1], Vitamin B-5, and Cysteine. The biotin and other ingredients stop the DHT hormone and help improve healthy blood flow to the scalp tissues. These ingredients help prolonged the flow of nutrients to the follicles and the vitamins present in this formulation have proven effects on hair growth and follicle health.
Vitadil— contains Minoxidil, an FDA-approved medicine for hair growth, and this formula contains 5% of Minoxidil. Oral Minoxidil is used to treat high blood pressure, and it can also be used to treat hair loss in males and females. [2]
Nutrisol and Vitadil are both mixed in a single-step application bottle and apply to the scalp.
Plant-Based Supplement—There is an oral herbal supplement containing some minerals, vitamins, and a blend of PhytoComplex. Phytocompelx is made from a mixture of valuable herbs like Horsetail, Bamboo, Green Tea, Saw Palmetto, etc. These ingredients work together to stop shedding and regrow hairs.
Follicle Detoxifier—This is another topical solution to wash off the product waste from the follicles. It also contains provitamin B and pantothenic acid for scalp nourishment.
ScalpMED For Women
The company also offers another similar product for women, but the only difference is the amount of Minoxidil used in the topical solution.
ScalpMED for Men uses 5% of Minoxidil, while the women’s formula uses only 2% of Minoxidil.
The ingredients present in ScalpMED are all research-based and will provide some results (if not all) because it contains a topical Minoxidil solution, an FDA-approved medicine for preventing hair loss.
Overall, this is not a bad hair growth product, but we recommend trying it on yourself because you will never know if you don’t try it.
How does ScalpMED work?
To understand how this product, you first need to know the reason behind your baldness. There is a hormone known as Dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which helps constrict the blood vessels responsible for the supply of nutrients and oxygen to your follicles.
The product works in 3 different steps to stop hair loss and regrow the lost hair. Here is how it works;
The first step is the Vitadil topical solution that contains Minoxidil. This ingredient help widen the blood vessels and open the potassium channels, allowing more oxygen, blood, and nutrients to the follicles.
The next part is Nutrisol which contains Retinol Beta-Sitosterol, PanthenolRetinol, and Biotin. These ingredients help keep the nutrients and oxygen channels open for as long as possible. These ingredients also help prevent itching and flaking caused by Minoxidil.
Scalp MED also comes with oral supplements that contain a blend of natural herbs, minerals, and vitamins that help improve and speed up hair growth.
ScalpMED re-establish the blood supply to the hair follicle, either by stopping DHT’s effect or encouraging better blood flow to the scalp. However, If a strand is dead, it will not respond to topical supplements. If you stop the medicine, hair thinning will likely restart.
ScalpMED Pros and Cons
Although the product is quite expensive, we still believe you should give it a try because it offers you a 120-day money-back guarantee.
Minoxidil in this formula is FDA approved for hair growth and development. Also, there is another component known as Nutrisol, which reduces minoxidil evaporation along the scalp.
ScalpMED Side Effects
Although this product is topical mainly and will not cause any severe side effects in some cases, it may cause some minor side effects such as;
- Skin rashes
- Dryness
- Facial hair growth
- Acne at the site of the application
- swelling of face
If you experience these side effects, consult your physician.
Also, this product and other hair growth treatments are not recommended for pregnant women.
Avoid it If you are allergic to any of the ingredients present in the topical or oral supplement.
ScalpMED Lawsuit
As the company is using an FDA-approved treatment for hair loss, there is no report of any class action or lawsuit against this company. Most customers who used this formula were happy with the results.
ScalpMED Price and Where to Buy ScalpMED?
The regular price of this product on the official company site is $112. If you subscribe to their auto-shipping program, you will get a discount of around $22, but they will send this product every two months and ship automatically.
- Regular two months supply—$112
- Subscribe and save (every two months)—$89.95
- Four monthly supplies can cost $179.95 and $249.95 for a six-month supply with free shipping.
The product is undoubtedly a good one but, to be honest—this is highly overpriced at the same time. If you have already decided to buy ScalpMED, it’s better to choose the regular 1-time purchase.
But again, at $112/2 months — I don’t recommend it.
Why am I saying this?
Because ScalpMED has only one product containing authentic and FDA-approved medicine i.e Vitadil, why would someone spend $100+ only to get Minoxidil? I mean, you can get a minoxidil solution for $20.
Now the question is where to buy Scalp MED.
Another problem with this hair growth system is that it is not readily available in any well-known eCommerce stores like Amazon and Walmart.
The product is only accessible through its official site, and some old versions of its products are also available on Amazon, but most are unavailable.
Luckily, this product is available on eBay but is mostly overpriced than the actual one.
Comparable Products—What are the best ScalpMed alternatives?
When choosing products to improve hair growth, ScalpMed is a popular choice due to its FDA-approved Minoxidil. That being said, several other high-quality alternatives are also available. Rogaine also has formulations based on the same ingredients as ScalpMed. Meanwhile, Profollica and Nutrafol utilize natural ingredients that have had great success for many users. Another option is Keranique which was explicitly created for women looking to reduce hair fall and encourage new growth. Ultimately each product focuses on different goals and finding the one that best suits your needs can significantly improve hair health.
ScalpMed Vs Rogaine
Scalpmed and Rogaine offer products with a key FDA-approved ingredient known as Minoxidil – Scalpmend consists of 4 specialized items such as Nutrisol®, Vitadil®-5A, and PhytoComplex®, plus an exclusive Detox, My Scalp product for women. In contrast, Rogaine caters specifically to male and female customers by providing Women’s Rogaine 2% Minoxidil solution alongside Men’s 5%.
Customer ScalpMED Reviews
Unfortunately, there is not enough customer ScalpMED Reviews online. The product is available on Amazon, but it is the old version of this supplement.
Still, there are few customer ScalpMED reviews on Amazon, but not very satisfying. Let’s see what people think about it.
ScalpMED has got 3.3/5 star ratings when the total review was only 8.
Positive ScalpMED Reviews
- According to one customer, this product work, but you will need to use it for the rest of your life, or else the effects will reverse.
- Another customer thinks that ScalpMED works and her hair are thickening.
- It works great after using a lot of other products. This one only works for me.
Negative ScalpMED reviews
- Jose Rivera thinks that this product doesn’t work and recommends that you research before buying any product.
What sets ScalpMED apart from its competitors?
ScalpMed stands out from the competition due to its commitment to providing customers with an effective solution to hair loss and thinning.
The company has developed a science-based formulation containing the only FDA-approved ingredient: minoxidil, a proven vasodilator. To maximize its effects, ScalpMed also created Nutrisol, which allows the minoxidil solution to remain on the head for an extended period for even better results.
In addition, retinol was added to some products—a vitamin A derivative, which increases collagen and elastin production. Furthermore, ScalpMed offers a generous 120-day money-back guarantee that ensures customer satisfaction.
Verdict—ScalpMED Review
Based on our research, ScalpMED for men and women is both potentially valuable for your hair regrowth efforts. Still, the Minoxidil in the Viatdil is the most potent and trusted medicine for hair regrowth.
Although this is not a scam product and may work if you are in the early stage of hair loss, still I couldn’t recommend it because of the following reasons;
- The product is primarily topical and doesn’t work on the root cause of hair loss.
- It comes in a set of 5 products—so you can’t buy one single product.
- You will need to use it for a long time, or else the hair fall will start again.
- You will need to pay more than $90 for one system —which is expensive.
Out of 5 products, only one is FDA-approved and works for hair growth, but you can get a similar Minoxidil solution from Amazon for a price much lower than this one.
However, as a pharmacist, I recommend you start a high-quality and proven supplement that can work on the inside and treat the root cause of hair loss.
For that reason, I recommend Profollica for men’s hair growth and Rogaine For women.
