How To Increase Testosterone Levels Quickly & Naturally

As we age, it’s natural for the body to experience a decrease in testosterone levels, the primary hormone responsible for male reproductive health. However, some strategies can be implemented to help preserve and even boost this powerful sex-driven compound as you age. Top ways how to increase testosterone levels quickly and naturally Eat Healthy Diet, Sleep Well & Get A lot of Rest The most important step is to ensure that you are getting adequate nutrition and rest. Eating a healthy, balanced diet and getting 8 hours of sleep each night will help to improve your body’s ability to produce testosterone. A study of nearly 2,300 teenage boys and men found that a lack of quality sleep could result in depleted testosterone levels. This highlights the importance of getting good rest each night – not only for improved energy but also to maintain healthy hormone production. Not getting enough sleep can take a significant toll on your testosterone levels – in one study, participants who slept for just five hours per night saw their testosterone drop by 10-15%. Everyone’s ideal amount of sleep is different, but make sure you’re sleeping well if you want to keep those hormone levels healthy. Protein is a powerful weapon for maintaining testosterone levels and shedding unwanted fat. With an adequate protein intake, you can enjoy the physical benefits of optimum hormone production and improved body composition. Do Regular Exercise Additionally, regular exercise, especially high-intensity interval training (HIIT), has been shown to raise testosterone levels. HIIT involves short bursts of intense activity followed by a period of rest. This type of exercise can be done in a relatively short amount of time and is especially beneficial for increasing testosterone production. A study of overweight men found that maintaining a physically active lifestyle had much more impact on improving testosterone levels than simple calorie restriction. Exercise offers more significant long-term benefits despite any initial difficulty. Recent research suggests that high-intensity interval training (HIIT) offers the most efficient results. No matter what type you choose, any exercise can help get your body to improve testosterone levels. Balance Hormone Levels In order to maintain healthy testosterone levels, ensure your hormones are balanced because they are vital for sexual health and well-being. Taking care not to overexpose yourself to chemicals that increase estrogen, like BPA, parabens, or other plastics, can help you maintain normal hormone levels. Other steps include having a healthy sex life – an essential element in keeping estrogen at bay. Use Supplements Certain supplements can also be used to increase testosterone levels. Zinc and Vitamin D have been shown to be particularly effective. Zinc helps regulate the production of testosterone and has been found to raise levels in athletes deficient in this mineral. Vitamin D is vital in regulating hormones and can help increase testosterone production. Additionally, certain herbs, such as ashwagandha, have been used for centuries to boost testosterone levels. Magnesium could be the key to unlocking healthier testosterone levels – supplementation may work wonders if your body is deficient in this essential mineral. Creatine is also widely recognized for its influential impact on testosterone levels. Clinical research showed that college football players who took creatine supplements over ten weeks experienced an elevation in their testosterone, demonstrating the power and potency of this natural substance found in salmon, tuna, and beef. You can also read our list of top and natural testosterone boosters and male enhancement products. Avoid Alcohol Drinking alcohol can also significantly impact test levels, and researchers have long explored the connection between these two. Recent studies have shown that drinking too much can rapidly decrease the male hormone, potentially resulting in decreased testicular function or even shrinkage. Manage Your Stress Finally, reducing stress levels is essential for improving testosterone production. Stress can reduce hormone levels, so it is important to practice relaxation techniques such as yoga or meditation. Taking regular breaks from work and engaging in enjoyable activities can also help reduce stress levels. Combining a nutritious diet, exercise, and supplements and reducing stress can significantly increase testosterone levels.   Bottom Line There is no quick fix to low testosterone, but research suggests that incorporating a nutritious diet and supplements, changing lifestyle, doing regular exercise and getting enough and quality sleep can help improve your testosterone levels.

The Hidden Dangers Of Aspirin And How To Avoid Them

Aspirin is, no doubt, one of the most remarkable human pharmaceutical inventions. The drug, which humans have used in some form since at least 1500 BC, has become one of the most commonly used drugs in the world. It is, of course, not surprising that Aspirin has such wide global use. It is an essential medicine for relieving various forms of pain, as well as reducing fever. In addition, a low dosage of Aspirin used daily was found to lower the risk of cardiovascular problems such as strokes and heart attacks. With such immense health benefits and popularity, many now gloss over the dangers of Aspirin and use it routinely. It is, however, important to pay attention to these risks as they may result in severe and fatal outcomes in some cases. Thus, in this article, we will be addressing some of the risks and dangers of aspirin use and how they could be mitigated. Let’s dive right in: What is Aspirin? Aspirin is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that helps relieve pain by reducing substances in the body that generally cause pain, inflammation, and fever. NSAIDs such as Aspirin and Ibuprofen are typically used by doctors, as opposed to opioid pain relievers like morphine, to treat pain that is less severe. Inflammation generally occurs when the body reacts to an infection or injury. When there is inflammation, however, the body receives pain signals from nerve receptors, causing us to feel pain. Aspirin and other NSAIDs disrupt this process by minimizing the direct effect of inflammation on pain-nerve stimulation. In addition, the drug also decreases inflammation, helping relieve the pain. Aspirin, specifically, contains a property called salicylate. This is a compound found in certain plants, such as the willow tree. This is the active ingredient in Aspirin that allows it to relieve pain. Interestingly, the willow tree has been used to manage pain since around 4,000 years ago and is still used by some people today. Hippocrates is said to have used the willow tree plant to relieve fever and manage pain during childbirth. Notably, the name ‘Aspirin’ is a trademark owned by a German pharmaceutical company known as Bayer. However, the name has become a generic term used to describe Acetylsalicylic acid. Overall, there is no gainsaying the fact that Aspirin is a beneficial drug with many uses. However, taking Aspirin also comes with some risks, particularly when used daily, as is the case with many Americans. Risks of using Aspirin daily Aspirin is commonly used for less severe pain that occurs with fevers and headaches. However, over time, the use of Aspirin was expanded beyond these conditions. This was majorly a result of research that showed that using Aspirin on a daily basis may be an effective way to prevent cardiovascular events such as heart attack and stroke. Aspirin reduces this risk by preventing blood clots from forming. In fact, the 2016 recommendations from the United States Preventive Services Task Force stated that adults between the ages of 50 and 59 may take Aspirin daily to prevent cardiovascular disease and colorectal cancer. It is worth noting that these recommendations could have restricted use to people who have a risk of cardiovascular disease, don’t have a high risk of bleeding, and are willing to take a daily dose for at least 10 years. While this guidance reflected the medical stance on Aspirin at the time, that has changed quite a lot since 2016. In the following years, research has accumulated to show that the potential risks of taking Aspirin daily far outweigh whatever health benefits can be derived. As such, the United States Preventive Services Task Force has updated its recommendations in 2022, taking into account the new known risks of daily aspirin use. The risks of daily aspirin use are particularly higher for people who have no known heart disease or stroke. In such cases, using daily Aspirin is not recommended. The risk of such use ironically stems from the effect of Aspirin that enables it to prevent cardiovascular events. Aspirin thins the blood and prevents clots from forming. And while this might help with reducing the risk of a heart attack, it can also lead to bleeding in the intestines, stomach, and brain. A person who has had no cardiovascular event, therefore, risks potentially severe bleeding if they use Aspirin daily. Similarly, those with an underlying risk of internal bleeding may experience more harm than good by using Aspirin daily. Considerations for seniors Given that seniors generally have a higher risk of experiencing cardiovascular events, it is understandable that this demographic is also more likely to explore the daily use of Aspirin in order to reduce this risk. One of the top health insurance concerns for seniors is the question “will Medicare pay for assisted living?”. Since the risk of assisted living increases with the occurrence of a heart attack or stroke, it makes sense why many seniors would try to prevent these events. However, as we have illustrated, the daily use of Aspirin for the primary prevention of cardiovascular events has many risks. Even in cases where people at higher risk for cardiovascular disease may benefit from daily aspirin use, it is essential that they make that decision in consultation with a healthcare professional. Other risk factors of Aspirin While daily use is clearly a primary catalyst for health risks in relation to Aspirin, other factors can also result in adverse outcomes. Here are some: Drug interaction: Using Aspirin alongside anti-inflammatory painkillers, particularly antidepressants and warfarin can exacerbate the risk of internal bleeding. Underlying conditions: People with conditions such as bleeding disorders (like hemophilia), asthma, stomach ulcer, and liver or kidney disease should be cautious with aspirin use as it could have harmful side effects. Use for children: Doctors generally don’t recommend using Aspirin for children as it increases the risk of a condition known as Reyes syndrome. Alcohol consumption: It is considered unsafe to take Aspirin before or after consuming significant amounts of alcohol

Lamivudine is a synthetic nucleoside analog and is intracellular phosphorylated to its active metabolite, lamivudine triphosphate (L-TP), 5′-triphosphate. Mechanism Of Action Letrozole is a selective nonsteroidal inhibitor of the aromatase enzyme system; it inhibits the conversion of androgens to estrogens. In adult nontumor- and tumor-bearing females, Letrozole is as effective as ovariectomy in reducing uterine weight. It also causes elevating blood serum luteinizing hormone and inflicts the regression of estrogen-dependent tumors. In distinction to ovariectomy, treatment with Letrozole doesn’t cause a rise in serum follicle-stimulating hormone. Letrozole selectively inhibits gonadal steroidogenesis but has no important effect on adrenal mineralocorticoid or glucocorticoid synthesis. Letrozole inhibits the aromatase enzyme by competitively binding to the heme of the cytochrome P450 subunit of the enzyme. This inhibition leads to a reduction of estrogen synthesis in all tissues. Treatment of women with Letrozole significantly lowers blood serum estrone, estradiol, and estrone sulfate. However, it has not been shown to affect adrenal corticosteroid synthesis, aldosterone synthesis, or the synthesis of thyroid hormones. Pharmacokinetics Letrozole (Femara Tablet) is quickly absorbed with 100% bioavailability. However, it has a slow metabolism, a large volume of Distribution, and a Time half (t½) of approximately 40 hours. Drug Interactions If you take other medicines or over-the-counter medicines simultaneously, the effects of Femara Tablet may change. This may increase the risk of side effects or make your medications not work correctly. Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, herbal remedies, and vitamins you use. Femara can interact with the following medications: Don’t Take Letrozole if you are already taking tamoxifen. While interaction with warfarin showed no clinical effect of Letrozole on warfarin pharmacokinetics. Cimetidine showed no clinically significant effect on letrozole pharmacokinetics. Femara may also interact with Estrogens (Conjugated estrogens and Ethinyl estradiol). Avoid eating grapefruit and drinking grapefruit juice while taking Letrozole because it slows down the breakdown of Letrozole. This could cause letrozole levels in the blood to rise dangerously high. Alcohol or marijuana can make you dizzier. Limit alcohol while taking Femara. It may also interact with Citalopram, Thalidomide, and Clopidogrel. It may also interact with Birth Control pills. According to a study published in the Journal, of Cell Chemical Biology suggests that exposure to the Estrogen mimicking compound could significantly reduce the effectiveness of anti-estrogen therapies like the Letrozole and palbociclib combination. Foods to avoid while taking Letrozole for fertility While taking letrozole for fertility, there are no specific foods to avoid, as food doesn’t interact with letrozole directly. However, it’s advisable to limit consumption of foods high in estrogen, as they may counteract the medication’s effects and potentially increase side effects. Additionally, it’s a good idea to reduce intake of alcohol, high-sugar foods, refined carbohydrates, excessive caffeine, saturated fats, and processed foods during this time. Can We Use Famotidine For Allergies?

Although hives, a scratchy throat, and constant sneezing are common allergy symptoms, many things could trigger them. From dust and pollen in the air to medications, you’ll never know what causes your body’s reactions until it happens. Though many people in the US deal with allergies daily, there is no cure—just treatments to help ease symptoms. Luckily for these sufferers of sneezing and throat tightening, medications such as generic loratadine and cetirizine are used. Still, limited research suggests that Famotidine can also provide additional relief from your allergy troubles. What is Famotidine? Famotidine is a medication that decreases stomach acid production and is widely used in peptic acid disease. It is typically used to treat peptic ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Famotidine belongs to a group of antihistamines (H2) that works by decreasing the amount of acid the stomach produces. Famotidine also treats gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions in which acid backs up from the stomach into the esophagus, causing heartburn. Can it be used for allergies? The antihistamines like H1 receptor blockers are used primarily to treat allergic reactions, including urticaria, rhinitis, dermatitis, itching, etc. However, recent studies have shown that histamine H2-receptor blockers like Famotidine may also help treat urticaria. In addition, some studies suggest that a combination of H1 and H2 blockers can help treat urticaria when the H1 blockers alone don’t work. Famotidine Dosage: Why take Famotidine at night? The dose depends on the condition and age of the patient. Still, the usual short-term adult recommended dose for peptic, gastric and duodenal ulcer is 40mg at bedtime for up to one month and 20 mg daily for long-term therapy. While for GERD, you will need to take 20mg twice daily for six weeks. It is mainly used at night to reduce gastric acidity during the night and morning time. Famotidine Price The cost of Famotidine varies depending on the pharmacy and your insurance plan, but it’s usually less expensive without one. For example, a pack of 20mg tablets can cost you $36.28.  Is there anyone who shouldn’t take Famotidine for allergies? Famotidine is generally well tolerated, with the most common side effects being headache, dizziness, and constipation. It should not be used in people with kidney or liver disease, a history of Long QT syndrome (a condition that can cause abnormal heart rhythms), stomach cancer, or younger than 12 years old. Famotidine should not be taken by these groups unless needed. Also, if you are already taking other medications, It may interact with other medicines & vitamins, which may harm your body. Is Famotidine safe—Side Effects? One of the potential side effects of Famotidine is anxiety. You must talk to your doctor if you experience anxiety while taking this medication. Other side effects of Famotidine include blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin; blood in the urine or stools; bloody, black, or tarry stools; difficulty breathing; discouragement; fast, irregular, pounding or racing heartbeat or pulse; feeling sad or empty. If you experience any of these side effects, talk to your doctor. Bottom Line Although famotidine is not currently FDA-approved for allergies, the current research suggests that it may be helpful. If you are interested in trying famotidine for allergies, please speak with your doctor to ensure it is the right choice.

N-acetyl cysteine (NAC): Benefits, Side Effects, Dosage

What is N-acetyl cysteine (NAC)? NAC is the short form of N-acetylcysteine and is a synthetic form of the amino acid cysteine. FDA has approved it for acetaminophen toxicity, but research on its other benefits remains preliminary and largely inconsistent across studies; however, some use it in place of traditional medication or supplements.  Please remember that it doesn’t fit in the FDA’s definition of a dietary supplement as it is an approved drug, and anything approved by FDA for a specific purpose is not considered a food or dietary supplement. However, as we know, NAC is an antioxidant, and many people use it for many other health benefits, including cough, common flu, COVID, dry eyes, fertility, brain health, and prevention of cancer. Some studies prove its efficacy in certain medical conditions, but no concrete scientific evidence supports these uses. Health Benefits Of NAC Based on the available and limited research, here are some health benefits of using NAC as a supplement. 1. Work as a Powerful Antioxidant The role of NAC in antioxidant production makes it valuable to the body. Along with two other amino acids—glutamine and glycine-it’s necessary for making antioxidants called Glutathione which neutralize free radicals that can damage cells or tissues. Animal studies suggest that it is crucial for heart health, infertility, and mental health conditions like anxiety disorder/depression [1] and may play a vital role in longevity [2]. However, more research is needed to discover its role in restoring Glutathione and its role in the above conditions.  2. Prevent Kidney & Liver Damage NAC has many benefits for your body, including helping to prevent side effects from drug overdoses and environmental toxins [3]. Doctors may often give IV doses to reduce or stop liver and kidney damage caused by acetaminophen toxicity [4]. 3. Improve Mental Health NAC is an important compound that helps control glutamate levels, the most popular neurotransmitter in your brain. Many studies [5] suggest that taking NAC can help psychiatric disorders like bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and substance use disorder. While other studies show that it may play a role when treating moderate-to extreme cases of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) [6].  NAC may help decrease the chances of getting addicted to drugs like cocaine and heroin. It can also be used in people with drug addiction, as NAC has been shown to decrease their withdrawal symptoms from cocaine [7], Marijuana, and nicotine [8].  4. Use For Cough & Lung Health NAC supplements have been used to improve COPD symptoms, alleviating the discomfort of lung conditions like asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) [9]. They also help replenish your body’s natural levels of Glutathione — an essential nutrient for maintaining health in both lungs and other parts you may not even be aware exist.   5. Brain Health The benefits of NAC supplements on brain health are promising, as it regulates glutamate and replenishes Glutathione, which can boost brain health [10]. It can also reduce brain cell oxidative stress associated with aging [11]. Besides the above health benefits, this amino acid may offer other health benefits like improving fertility in both men and women, stabilizing blood sugar, and reducing heart diseases.  Although N-acetylcysteine has been proven effective in many health conditions, more research must be done before we can make strong conclusions. How Can Someone Get NAC? Do They Need A Prescription? NAC is available as a supplement, but you can also get it through a prescription. Many companies make this ingredient in their formulation, which is readily available on Amazon, Walmart and other such stores. Dosage—Are There Different Doses? The usual recommended adult dose is 600-1200mg per day. You will need to take it in the evening DLMO (dim-light melatonin onset) or later. Although it is safe for children, it’s recommended to avoid it in children under 12 years, or your doctor better prescribes it. N-acetyl cysteine comes in oral, Intravenous, and then inhalation dosage forms.   Who Should Avoid NAC? Anyone with a stomach ulcer should not take N acetyl Cysteine because it may cause bruising and bleeding. Please inform your doctor before doing surgery because of its anticlotting effect.  Although it is safe to use during pregnancy, it is recommended to consult your doctor because of potential congenital disabilities. Cysteine is safe to use during breastfeeding but to be safe avoid its use. N-acetylcysteine (NAC) causes bronchospasm and may not be safe for asthmatic patients.  Also, avoid it if you are allergic to it or inactive ingredients.   What Should You Tell Your Doctor Before Taking NAC? Before taking NAC, tell your doctor if you are already taking nitroglycerin, as it can cause extremely low blood pressure and headaches. Also, talk to your healthcare provider about your current medical condition, like if you are asthmatic or hypertensive. Conclusion N-acetyl Cysteine (NAC) is a crucial semi essential amino acid responsible for many functions in the body. It reload the levels of antioxidant glutathione, and also regulates the important neurotransmitter glutamate. It is also known to detoxify the body and is mainly used for paracetamol toxicity related to overdose. Related Article Morning Complete Review: Is It Worth It? Gut Connect 365 Review: Legit Or Scam?
